Followers of this website will be aware of the fact, one of my favorite charities is Habitat for Humanity. The following information comes from their press release regarding the upcoming global awareness day. Additional information can be found here. The United Nations has designated the first Monday each October as World Habitat Day. This year on October 5 in Washington, D.C. and around the world, please join Habitat for Humanity in support of this global observance as we come together and declare that the lack of decent, affordable housing is unacceptable. According to the United Nations, more than 100 million people in the world today are homeless.
Have you ever known someone whom you wished you could help financially but knew they would be embarrassed or distressed in some way if you offered them money face to face? Or maybe it’s your own embarrassment that stops you. Especially if you think the amount you can share would not be enough to make a difference. Here is an incredible idea! A web site where you can help anonymously. Watch the video below from NBC News. With the help of a private website that allows donors to give anonymously, philanthropy is thriving online. Visit msnbc.com for Breaking News, World News, and News about the Economy You can find the web site at Giving Anonymously.

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y.—It was an unlikely pairing, the old man and the boy. Chester Ross, 65, a textiles and fashion entrepreneur, had long since raised his two daughters and had three grandchildren of his own. David Loughran, a timid 7-year-old longing for someone to play ball with, was an only child being raised by his divorced mother. See the full story here.

Have you heard the latest news about Oprah? Seems she and Mutual of Omaha Insurance Company are at odds over the legal rights to the phrase “aha moment”. Mutual of Omaha is rolling out a new ad campaign, in celebration of it’s 100th year, featuring the common man and woman and how their personal “aha moments” have changed their lives or the lives of those near them. They even have a web site featuring videos of people sharing their aha moments. Check them out at http://www.ahamoment.com/. There’s even a spirituality category listed in their search by moment type. They definitely are heart touching videos. Okay, so should I be worried because of my similar domain name?
