Both cannabis and cacao work with the endocannabinoid system (ECS) in your body. Our bodies actually produce some of our own cannabinoids, or endocannabinoids, most notably one called anandamide, known as “the bliss molecule”. This is one found in cannabis and in small levels in cacao.
However Cacao also has two compounds (N-linoleoylethanolamide and N-oleoylethanolamide) that inhibit the breakdown of anandamide, helping to enhance and support “the bliss molecule” at work.

🍫 Why fair-trade and organic sourcing matters so much with Chocolate?

Cacao farming has been historic in exploitation of vulnerable populations. Choosing fair trade and organic chocolate is a way to support equitable practices, and address rampant issues in the chocolate business such as child labor, slave labor, poverty, and environmental degradation.
