Two extracts. One philosophy. The full power of the plant.
At Ahh Moments, every ingredient we choose is guided by one idea: whole plant medicine. That philosophy starts with the cannabis itself — and two extracts define how we bring it to life in our chocolates.
Solventless hash rosin is made by washing fresh-frozen cannabis flower in ice water to separate the trichomes — the resin glands that hold the plant’s full spectrum of cannabinoids, terpenes, and flavonoids. Those trichomes are dried and pressed using only heat and pressure, producing a golden, aromatic concentrate with zero solvents and maximum plant integrity. It’s expressive, strain-specific, and as close to the living plant as a concentrate can get.
RSO (Rick Simpson Oil) has a different origin. Developed in the early 2000s by Canadian engineer Rick Simpson, it’s made by extracting the full range of plant compounds using ethanol, then evaporating the solvent to leave behind a thick, dark, whole-plant oil. RSO carries the complete chemical fingerprint of cannabis — cannabinoids, terpenes, chlorophyll, and plant waxes — and has been widely embraced by the wellness community for its reported benefits around pain, inflammation, sleep, and anxiety. It’s deeply therapeutic, deeply plant-forward, and nothing like distillate.
Here’s how the two compare:
Both extracts share the same core value — neither isolates a single molecule, and neither cuts corners. They deliver the entourage effect: the synergistic interaction of cannabinoids, terpenes, and plant compounds that makes the experience richer and more intentional than anything distillate can offer.
Chocolate is the natural home for both. Cacao is itself a plant medicine — rich in anandamide, antioxidants, and compounds that engage the same endocannabinoid system as cannabis. Its fat content improves cannabinoid absorption, and its complex terpene-forward flavor profile harmonizes with both rosin and RSO in ways that feel genuinely alive. We partner with small-batch, organic, fair-trade chocolate producers because the chocolate has to be worthy of what’s inside it.
And that whole-plant commitment extends beyond the cannabis. Ceremonial matcha, puffed Peruvian quinoa, real raspberries, sea moss, vanilla bean, Assam tea — every ingredient we choose is a plant with a purpose. When you eat an Ahh Moments chocolate, you’re consuming a thoughtfully assembled collection of whole plants, each one selected for what it contributes to the experience.
That’s the herbalist tradition. That’s the ahh moment.
